Mighty Mo

Today we had plans to hike Manoa Falls & as we were leaving post Gabe made a small change in that. I was telling about a email I received about the reopening of the USS Missouri. It had been dry docked since right before Thanksgiving for repairs and updates. Today it was free to all Military service members / Spouses as well as Locals for the grand reopening. I had told Crystal about it at work yesterday so she & her family made plans to go. (they had never been before) So as I'm telling this to Gabe he pulls out his phone to call A (C's hubby) & makes plans for us all to go together. UGH!!! ok ok I don't mind going with them at all, it's just that we had already made plans that I was looking forward to. Not to mention the fact that we have already been to the USS Missouri and that's one of those things once you see it, its the same the 2nd time around. However we agreed and decided to go with them.
It was a nice day out, at least it was on Ford Island, I can't say it was every were Else on the Island because it sure wasn't.

Here is a peek at our 2nd trip to the USS MISSOURI. We had fun & saw some new things that we missed the first time around but for the most part Gabe & I couldn't really tell that there were any changes. ENJOY :)

WE LIVE HERE :)

When Gabe & I first got together he told me that this was his song to me. I fell in love with it from the moment I heard it. It's my ringtone for when he calls me & it puts a smile on my face whenever I hear it.
(just thought I'd share, hope you enjoy)

LATELY

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Here is a peak at our pups. lately. They are getting so big and more lovable as time goes by. Dingo turned a year old on January 15th and Bailey Girl will be a year old on March 4th .
They definitely keep us on our toes at all times. Its like having 2 kids, ours just have 4 legs and you don't have to change a diaper. I couldn't imagine our life with out them. They are so spoiled rotten, even to were we are letting them sleep up stairs with us at night instead of in their kennels since they are in them a good amount during the day. They are my babies and we love them to bits and pieces. :)

Press ____ for:

OK so today was one of the most annoying, aggravating days at the CDC since I have started a year ago and there has been some pretty bad days but this one tops it off. We have this little girl & her brother (I'll call her C & him S) in our class and with it being hourly they are only there every once in a while, normally 2 or 3 times a week. But that is 2 or 3 times to many for us. So C is 2 1/2 almost 3 years old and not potty trained still in diapers who talks like a baby. Her brother S on the other hand is 13 months and well a whole nother story. C has a VERY hard time listening & doing things the first time told. She is FULL of energy and a ball of it. Picture a child that stuck their hand in a light socket. She is such a doll with long curly hair and has the cuttest personality ever. (when she is not bouncing off every piece of furniture in the classroom.) But sometimes enough is just enough and today did it. The child opens the classroom door and trys to escape. She can reach the crock pot on the counter which is on & hot mind you. Today somehow she managed to reach the fire alarm on the wall and I though I was about to go OFF. Nap time came and any other day they are picked up by 12pm so no nap for them, but today was different they were there till 2pm. OMG, are you freaking kidding me. I just wanted 2 O'clock to hurry up and fast. S went to sleep pretty well after Crystal sat with him for a while. C on the other hand did not, I tryed sitting with her and rubbing her back, patting her back even letting her lay there by herself with me sitting by her. Crystal tryed everything she could and NOTHING. She has this stuffed beanbag animal that she calls "PINKY" (its pink), its like her security thing. We let her have that in hopes that it would calm her down but no. So we took it away and that didn't bother her a bit. She was jumping around throwing her blankets and laughing. She ended up waking up another child as well as her brother.
Crystal and I were just beside ourselves, we called management in for help and got no were. Seeings she isn't potty trained she cant move classes. UGH!!!!! We did what we could to not pay attention to her goofiness and acting up in class during nap time. But it was so hard, we just couldn't take it anymore. It truly was the longest day in history of working at the CDC. We started just joking around and being goofy which then caused us to crack up laughing causing C to bust out laughing which was annoying because she had no clue what we were saying or why we were laughing. Oh children, days like today remind me just why I am not ready for my own. I know people say that its different when its your own and I truly believe that. No, way my child would ever get to that point but one day..... one day we will have a mini Gabe or TT running around.

This was just one of the punch lines Crystal & I came up with. We had a blast and had to do something to keep ourselves sane while the time went by very slowly.

Press for: #1~ a shot gun, #2~ duck tape, #3 ~ a bat, #4~ a bullet, #5~ a drink, #6~ a drink w/ Alcohol #7~ hook #8~ wooden spoon #9~ run me over #0~ ALL THE ABOVE. This is the way Crystal & I felt after dealing with a 3yr old today...OMG longest day in history. I don't have kids but I know that this is not how they are suppose to act.

We had a parent bring in some Chocolate covered Strawberry's for us she had gotten for her birthday the day before and was so kind to share with us. After C & S left I jumped into the bowl of strawberries and was in HEAVEN. It was just what we needed after the day we had just been through. Thanks Mrs. E.

Just thought I'd share about our day at the CDC and some of the joys that come along with it.

You know you're from Hawaii.....

You can understand and speak PIDGIN English.

You go to dinner and "make one plate" with all the extra food leftover.

You automatically take off your shoes in people's homes.

You wear rubber slippers to the beach.

You eat rice every single day.

It's "shave ice" not "snow cones."

When you know NEVER to turn your back facing the ocean.

You know what ukus are and have had them at least once before when you was one little keiki.

When someone says to "dress up" it means one nice aloha shirt and jeans.

You eat coconuts straight from the shell - and drink the juice.

You know you aren't supposed to whistle at night time, cross your chopsticks, or stick your fork straight out of your rice.

You know what "tutu" means.

You learned to play the ukulele in elementary school.

It's SHOYU, not soy sauce.

To you, sushi means sushi, not RAW FISH!

You have a billion pairs of slippers in front your door when your family gets together.

Your house has residue from the salty ocean air.

You eat Portuguese sausage, eggs, and rice for breakfast.

You don't understand why anyone would buy less than a 20 lb bag of rice.

You know what lei day is.

You know what the "stink eye" is; and how to give it.

Rainbow Drive-Inn is a special date.

You call public transportation "da BUS"

You go to Neiman Marcus "jus fo look."

The mainland people no can understand your language.

You eat mango with shoyu, vinegar, and pepper.

You like ume, daikon, and kim chee better than pickles.

You never understood why adding pineapple and ham to a pizza made it Hawaiian to the rest of the world.

You have a separate circuit breaker for your rice cooker.

You measure the water for the rice by the knuckle of your index finger.

The condiments at the dinner table are shoyu, ketchup, chili peppah watah, kimchee, takuwan, Hawaiian salt and pickled onion.

You go to Maui and your luggage home includes potato chips, manju, cream puffs, guri-guri and fresh saimin from Sam Sato's.

A balanced meal has three starches: rice, macaroni and bread.
You call everyone older than you "Aunty" or "Uncle" even though they aren't related to you.

You are barefoot in most of you elementary school pictures.

Your only suit is a bathing suit.

You drive barefoot.

You feel guilt leaving a get-together without helping clean up.

The idea of taking something from a heiau is unthinkable.

You'd rather drag out the compressor and fill that leaking tire every single morning than have it fixed.

The only time you honk your horn is once a year during the safety check.

Nobody is sure exactly where "north" is.

Your cousin is Japanese-Chinese-French-Filipino-Korean-Scottish-Portuguese-Hawaiian, plus some stuff too manini to mention.

You watch your favorite shows "on top the TV".

The best cooks all use lots of mayonnaise.

An approaching hurricane means only one thing - surf's up, brah!

Pail Lookout

After our adventure to the Maunawili Falls we stopped off to check out the Pail Lookout also known as the Nuuaus Pali State Park.
The Nuuanu Pali Lookout ("Cool Height Cliff")overlooking the 985 foot cliffs of the Koolau Mountain Range is one of the most amazing views Oahu. In 1795 King Kamehameha and his warriors defeated the Oahu armies by sending them over these steep, forested cliffs and claiming his victory and uniting the Hawaiian Islands.

Being so high up on the mountains and with nothing blocking the wind it was a bit chilly. But the spectacular view was totally worth every bit of it.

GABE GETTING HIS HISTORY LESSON FOR THE DAY. He enjoys reading each and EVERY detail. (were ever they may be)

It was so cold I though I was gonna freeze. (ok ok maybe it wasn't that cold but it was chilly.)

The road will take you to the Kaneohe side of the island or the other direction to Honolulu first passing through China Town.

Maunawili Falls

We set out today headed to Maunawili Falls. Once we found the falls, trying to find parking was a NIGHTMARE times 10. However we managed and were on our way trekking through the forest checking out the breath taking Ko'olaus Mountains and the small water fall trail as we followed down the path. We made our way down to the water fall were there was a deep cool pool of water. There many locals & tourist included were jumping from the top of the fall down into the pool of water. I sat and enjoyed the view as my pants and shoes were already muddy I didn't want to get them any worse. lol Needless to say I didn't leave nearly as clean as I was when we arrived.
It was so comical trying to cross the different streams & watch out for muddy patches as we made our way to the end. I truly enjoyed our day out together. Moment's like today remind me how much I really am loving our time here in Hawaii. :)

We had a wonderful time even with a few slips here and there. hee hee. :) Love you Babe.

Kole Kole Pass w/ PuP's

After I got off work, it was such a pretty day out so we decided to take the pups. for a walk. Rather than just around the track we headed for Kole Kole. As they paced the back seat of the truck you could tell they were getting so excited. (we take them to the doggie park on Sundays, so I'm sure they thought that's were we were headed.)
We took Dingo up a few months after we got him and he seemed to enjoy it so we figured they would both have a ball making their way up the trail.
We let Bailey go once we got to the top (w/ her leash still on) and she just ran around silly smelling everything and when we called her she came running as fast as she could right back to us. We did the same with Dingo (after we had Bailey back) and he scampered around like a little jack rabbit it was so cute. When we reach the top (were we like to go) we let both there leashes go and watched them run around crazy checking everything out. We had a wonderful time on our little family walk. :) lol

Kole Kole Pass

After I got home from work today we debated going to the beach for a quick dip in the ocean. The more I stood around and though about it, I didn't wanna change and get all beached up at 4:30 in the afternoon. But It was such a beautiful day out & I didn't want to let it go to waste. That's when the Love of my life came up with a GREAT plan. We loaded up in the truck & headed to Kole Kole Pass. It's one of my favorite places just to go and get away from everything, relax and take in the beautiful island that we live on.

As we made our way up chatting away about the up coming deployment, we were able to get allot out and really figure out what we wanted to do and were we wanted to be when it was over with. Everything always seems to come together when I least expect it to but, I guess that is the best way for things to happen. Now that we have a plan, we just have to get things in place which makes me feel alittle better. Still the worst feeling ever knowing that the love of my world we be striped from me for 12 whole months.

Once we reached the top, we took a moment to just look across the ocean, through the mountains and feel the windy blowing through our skin. At that moment I knew that it was meant to be, I LOVE Hawaii and will never forget our time here together. Over the next few months we are taking in each and every opportunity we can to experience and see everything we have yet to. AND I CAN'T WAIT, I have a "Hawaii Bucket List" that is a mile long, so we better get cracking on it.

I LOVE YOU BABY THIS MUCH,
I----------<3--------------I

HE IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE & SO MUCH MORE :)

"DANGER DANGER KEEP BACK"

I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD EVER DO WITH OUT HIM, THANK GOODNESS I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT :)
