Adding to My Collection

A week or so ago the hubbs & I were out shopping and we stumbled upon this fabulous Fiestaware pot / skillet set. I'd never seen it before and I was overly excited, like a fat kid in a candy store excited!!! They had a few items that were sold individually that were different colors but not enough to make a full set. We priced it out and buying just four items would be right at $200.00 that's the whole cost of the 11 piece set. $200.00. I really wanted it but I knew the hubbs had already spent a pretty penny on my Christmas gift. I told him we would wait, because I knew I'd be getting a "cash" gift from my parents at school the very next day. (Monday) It's just what they do, they take up a collection and its divided out between the other two teachers and myself.
Then I'd still be getting it, just not spending "our" money. It made perfect sense, and so that is what we did. Monday rolled around, sure enough I received $200.00 cash from my parents at school as my Christmas gift. Thursday the hubbs went over to Dillard's and picked up my fabulous new Pot / Skillet set. We decided it made more since to get the full 11 piece set vs. buying it all individually just to get different colors and paying way more. The set was $200.00 exactly so we only had to pay the taxes, not to shabby if I do say so myself. I'm loving my new set and the color to, I can't wait to use them the weekend!!!!!!!
JUST A LITTLE EXCITED ABOUT MY NEW COOKWARE MAYBE!!!!
(please excuse my ugly gas stove, I hate it!!!)
I've managed to build quite the collection of Fiestaware over the past couple years. I absolutely love how colorful it is and how it brightens up our kitchen. Everything is a different color even down to the salt and pepper shakers and the utensil set. I think I'll have to do a post, show casing our collection here soon!!!!! I've still got quite the list of items I want, Can't wait to add more to our collection.

Do you have a particular dishware /
cookware brand you are partial to over another???

Lunch Break

DAY 109

Thankfully I only work about 6 miles from home, its not on post but still close. I'm able to come home on my lunch every day if I wanted, this way I can let the pups out. Most of the time I only come home on Tuesdays & Thursdays since I go to spin class right after work.  Today I came home because I had plans to go to spin this evening since I wasn't going to be able to make it tomorrow. (I was going to dinner with a co~worker for her bday.)
While cleaning up the kitchen and picking up from the weekend I remembered I had a full dishwasher of clean dishes. We had a couple of the guys over for dinner last night & I cooked dinner for them while they studied for a up coming test. Normally I wash everything by hand right then and there but there was just to much and I was being lazy. Needless to say I was hating myself for not just washing them last night. I hate unloading the dishwasher just as much as I hate loading it. Oh well someones got to do it, when I was living at home I always made sure to get every last dish in there because I didn't want to do anything by hand and now as weird as it sounds I prefer to wash everything myself.

When I was putting the dishes away I had the back door open so the pups could go in and out if they wanted. It was such a beautiful day out and the sun was shinning bright!!! I looked out to check on my babies and this is what I found. Bailey Girl was laying out there sun bathing, soaking up the sun. She LOVES to be outside just laying in the yard. I wish I wasn't so nervous about leaving them outside when I go back to work some times after lunch. I'd only be gone for 3 hours but I just can't bring myself to do it yet. I know I'd be worried sick about them the whole time I was back at work. I want to try and leave them outside on a weekend day when we run to the PX or just a short trip here on post some were just to see how they do. I'm not worried about them digging out or getting out any other way, I'm kinda worried about random people just coming and letting them out. Our gate is securely closed but that doesn't mean someone couldn't get in. Thankfully our house backs up to a big wooded area and neither of our neighbors mind our yappy mutts out when they are barking. It's to pretty to be inside all the time, they want to get out and enjoy the fresh air, I don't blame them either.

Isn't she just the cutest thing ever!!!! She's my baby girl, I'd be lost with out her.

We're having a Fiesta

I have wanted to start a Fiestaware collection since I was young. I was at a estate sale once with my mamaw and they had a big set that they were selling of all different colors. However then I was to young, didn't need them and they were asking way to much for then.
During one of our MANY trip to the NEX I saw that they had started selling it there. WOOHOO, I didn't get any that day because well I have a set of dishes at that I really like and don't plan on getting rid of them and why have more than what I need.
This past weekend while at the NEX (again) we went to look to see if they had the dishes still and sure enough they did. I stood there forever just looking at them and dreaming I had some of my own. When Gabe points out that they are having a sale and anything from the collection is 20% off. Still holding off and not jumping into getting any he pipes up and says, "pick out what you want, its ok". After standing there for what seemed like forever I gave in & got 2 place settings & a water pitcher.
When I got home I rearranged all the dishes and glasses in the cabinet to make room for our new set. I was so excited I had OFFICIALLY started my Fiesta Collection. I was on Amazon.com and did a search for Fiestaware and they had tons of it online. I made myself a "Wish List" on Gabe's account and plan on going off that to add to my collection. One day, I will have a collection like I saw at the estate sale along with all the cookware to go with it.

I have the Chocolate & Ivory place setting and the Red Pitcher,
Here is my "Wish List" http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/14OVXTWG2VJ56
(everything else on the list other than the dishes is Jared's :)
