This is really cramping my drive

This road has been closed for the past week and its really cramping my drive to work & home. I leave for work in the afternoons just in time get there and I ALWAYS forget about this stupid road being closed. Its one section of the main road that runs right down the middle of post, everything seems to be off this road and it causes you to have to go completely around the world to get to the back to the housing area. When I came home on Monday that's when they first started the work, I assumed it would only last a day or two and now we are going on day four. Thank goodness I've managed to find my way around post and the back way to our house. I would have been stuck driving in circles trying to get home if I didn't know my way around. I took this picture last night on my way home as I was waiting in the long line at the light to turn right. As much as it drives me crazy I really guess it's not as bad as it could be. Heck they could have closed off the entire road, I better watch what I say or they may. hee hee.

Pu'u O Mahuka Heiau State Park

While we drove up the hill off North Shore to were we where going this afternoon we saw a state historical park & decided to check it out. After a long bumpy dirt road that made me a wee bit nervous (because we were in my car) we finally made it to a small parking lot at the end. Pu'u O Mahuka Heiau State Park is were we where a old run down monument was what we saw. There was a camp site to the left that looked as if some homeless people lived there but they had signs out asking for money to help maintain the area. It didn't look as if that's what it would have gone for because the park was very old and not well taken care of at all. However there was a small trail that circled around the area and we decided to follow it. As we were walking you could here the ocean crashing up against the shore line. The further we got around the louder it was. Finally we came to a opening and there was a perfect view of Waimea Bay. It was so pretty and neat to see from higher up, you don't realize how big it really is down on the beach. It would be the perfect little area to go and have a picnic and watch the sunset or rise.
I enjoy finding hidden little areas like this as we are out driving around, its so neat to see the history of the island.

Tantalus Drive

This was a beautiful drive that Gabe & I had done back when we rented the jeep how ever it rained on us. I suggested to Crystal & Adam to do it before they left & they were all over the idea. It was so gorgeous and the weather was just perfect. The road is 10 miles long and wiggles and winds up the mountain through a pretty forest above Honolulu. Reaching the top at 1,610 feet, in the process you will be able to see Honolulu at new heights and its true beauty. There are several look outs through out the drive that offer different views of the Leeward side of Oahu.
I did find "MY SPOT" along the drive were if I ever need to just go relax and get away from it all and have myself a little quiet time. Pu'u Ualaka'a State side Park. It over looks a 25 mile swap of the Oahu, from Barbers point all the way past Diamond Head to Kahala. Its true beauty you have to see for yourself to really take in. I can't wait for Gabe to get home so we can take the drive together again and I can show him "OUR SPOT" on top of the mountain.










This was the afternoon after Gabers left and I have to say riding around in the back of a convertible mustang was a nice refreshing felling for just a brief moment as my heart ached in pain, hoping it was all a dream and I would soon wake up. OH how I miss him so dearly and would give anything to have him home in my arms.
