Many Colors

DAY 24

The many different colors of Leaves

I simply can't get over how beautiful the trees are during the fall weather. I can't remember when the last time I saw leaves this color on the trees in my neighborhood. I though palm trees were breath taking but I can't seem to get enough of the colored trees here in SC. From the vibrant red & bright lively yellow. Every were I go I'm always taking pictures of the trees. I'm sure people think I'm nuts when they see me but hey I've never seen leaves like these ones and I'm just blown away by it. I'm sure you will see more in future post so just bare with me and enjoy the beauty that SC has to offer.
The best part is they are all over post, around the lakes & in peoples yard. It makes the area feel so warm and definitely puts you in the fall mood.

A picture say a thousand words

With our 3 year Wedding Anniversary coming up quickly, I was at a loss as to what to get Gabe while in Iraq. See our first two anniversaries we were lucky enough to be able to spend them together. However this year things are a bit different due to the deployment. Sure we could have planned R&R around our Anniversary were he would be home. BUT November was just WAY to early for us to do R&R. Later the better is our motto.

So after asking Gabe for the last month or so what he wanted finally he came up with a new watch. Its not just any regular watch, its one he can use for work and when he works out. I guess it's a guy thing. So he ordered it and had it sent right to him, made my life alot easier. He also asked for a tea kettle & Dunkin Donut coffee. That one was on me to get and thankfully I found both while out at the NEX one day.

I still wanted to do something alittle more specail for him and something that he wouldn't expect. So I bought a multi frame a the store and put a few pictures of us in it over the last 4 years. I also put together a photo book on walmart.com that had pictures in it from the very first time we'd met up until he left for the deployment. Under each picture was a caption that explained what we were doing or where we were.

That still wasn't enough I wanted to do more......but what......then it came to me. How about getting my picture taken for him. Whom better to ask than the famous Lowder Photography. Now I didn't want any of that swim suit / half dressed half naked picture. I was simply wanting something sweet and tasteful that I would be ok with the world seeing.

So we met up and made our way to North Shore Police Beach one Saturday morning and had a wonderful time. I was so happy that I decided to do this for him. As simple as it turned out I know he will just love them and I can't wait to hear his reaction. I put the CD in the mail this past Monday in a envelope all by its self & a card. So he will get it alittle after our Anniversary but that's ok. He has already gotten his original Anniversary box and has already dug into the homemade cookies, marshmellows and other goodies that I sent.

I absolutly love spoiling my Soldier more than anything, it brightens my day knowing that I can put a smile on his face just from a simple care package.
I am so blessed to have been married to him for the past 3 years and I can't wait for many many more to come. I only hope that we don't have to spend any more apart. (I know being in the army thats not likely but hey a girl can wish right)

Here is a sneak peak of my shoot with Lowder. (if your in Hawaii check her out!!!!)

North Shore

After work today I made my way down to North Shore and got some amazing shots with my new camera. The waves were GIANT, its so breath taking just to sit there and watch the waves crash in against the shore line. I could have sat there for hours watching the sunset and listening to the ocean. Evenings like tonight is why I love living in Hawaii. This is something that we will only experience once in a life time so I am taking full advantage of it now.
Here are a few of my favorite shots I managed to snag. "ENJOY"

Shootin in Style

Saturday as we left the house to get out and get a few things done Jared said "I hope your Christmas Present gets here soon".
Not knowing what he was talking about at all (because I didn't ask for anything), we went about our day.
That afternoon we came home and there was the giant box sitting on our front porch. I got out and looked at the name on it and it was for Jared so I left it for him to get and made my way inside. After checking the rest of the mail, he asks if I want my gift early and I said NO. I wanted to wait till Christmas because that is the whole point of the Holidays.
Well, after much convincing from him I gave in and said YES. He started opening the box and gave me a smaller one from under the tree to open. Mine was a lens for a camera and the one he was opening was a CAMERA. Not just any old point and shoot one either. It was a Sony a300 like I had been wanting forever. He even got a second lens to go along with it for taking pictures really far away. I love photography and taking pictures and when I get back to the mainland I want to finish my schooling in photography because I want to take professional pictures. One day my all time dream would be to open up my own Photo Studio. I was so excited and couldn't believe he got it for me. It's so fancy and has so many buttons and options to choice from for taking pictures.
I'm loving it and can't wait to go out and capture the world in style.
