After arriving in Kauai Saturday morning we were picking up our rent car. I had just booked a small economy car, we were only there for the day so we didn't need anything big and fancy. However when we were doing the paper work the sales rep. told us we could upgrade to a soft top jeep for a extra $30.00. I looked at Gabe and told him it was his call because I knew he'd be ALL OVER THE IDEA. Sure enough he took her up on it and we were on the road in no time. With the window's down and the radio up cruising around the island in our 2 door soft top jeep, we were having the time of our life.
While driving thought the Waimea Canyon there were several off roading trails that we ventured out on. It was nice not to have to worry at all about the jeep getting scratch or something broken or messed up on it because it wasn't ours. And by chance if something were to have happened USAA would have covered it all.
We even stopped in the middle of one of the trails and took the soft top off. I enjoyed riding along taking in the view with not a worry in the world at all. Jared was having a wonderful time as well.
I think if we hadn't had other plans through out the day, he would had just drove around off roading all day. He was in his world and nothing was stopping him. He was truly getting to be a boy with his toy. It was awesome to see how excited he got when we made it up another hill or across the bends and around the corners.
We have talked and think that we want to try and get a jeep when he gets back from deployment & we get to the mainland. This would be perfect for off roading and just cruising around, camping or even mudding. I can't wait to do it all over again, I kept telling him through out the day how happy I was that we upgraded to the jeep instead of sticking with the small car. :)
