PHX ZOO

Today was day two in the Valley.....and block leave is just getting started. After making a mandotory stop at SONIC for a drink that was well over due, we were on our way to the Zoo. Meeting up with one of my most favorite people in the whole word and her lil sis in law. The last couple times we have came to Phoenix we have tryed making plans to go to the zoo but something always would come up. I was SOOOO excited to finally get to go, i'm not a huge zoo fan but I do enjoy going. :) Gabe was even excited himself to go.

There is 125 acres of land including all the exhibit, non-exhibit and operations areas in the park, which included a pond were you can paddle boat. A area were you can take a camel ride even a couple different water play area's for the kiddos. We also found out there is about 1,200 animals at the zoo and if you added Gabe in that the day we went there were 1,201 animals at the zoo that day.

It was so nice to get to go with Nichole and catch up with her. I know we have both missed her so much and are enjoying the time we are getting to spend together with the Clingers. I love coming to the Valley just for this very reason & yes as well seeing the family.

Beachin it w/ the Pups

Another lovely day at the beach with the pups. It was awesome this time because Dingo ran right in the water and was having a blast. Bailey was a bit stand offish at first again but only for the first 2 or 3 minutes and then she ran right in after Gabe & Dingo. I love watching them jump around and play in the water. This time the water was up high enough were they both had to swim at some points and it was so cute to see that they could swim. We were quite impressed that they figured it out all on their own the first time.

Bubba's Burgers

One of our last stops while we were in Kauai was at Bubba's Burgers for dinner. Every item on the menu started with Bubba.....and my favorite was the "Frings" it was half a order of Onion rings & half a order of French Fries.

"Always Juicy--Never Greasy Where the food's hot, the service is cold, and the music's too DAMN LOUD"

Gabe got the Smothered Bubba Burger

I went with the Double Bubba Burger (pictured in the back)

The food was AWESOME & we would totally eat there again, not to mention the service was really great as well. It's a must dine in if your ever on Kauai. There's a few different location on Kauai, this one was right off North Shore.

Hidden Secrets in Kauai

Here are just a few of the amazing things the Island of Kauai has to offer. We had the most amazing time and are looking forward to our trip back. From the water falls to the rivers and roosters to the canyon and lookout points, The off roading and driving along North Shore, not to mention the local food was awesome as well. It's kinda one of those place's you must see yourself to see the real beauty in it, but for now here is a small glimpse of our time there. Hope you enjoy :)

Hanapepe Swinging Bridge

The glory days of Hanapepe may be over but it is still the "biggest little town" on the South Shore. The town started by Chinese rice farmers in the late 1800's. It was the only town that was not associated with a plantation. It gained a reputation as wild spot with numerous bars and brawls.
In the 1970's and 1980's it began to decline, especially when the Kukui Grove Shopping Center was opened in 1982. The town was used in the filming of the movie The Thorn Birds.

The Swinging foot bridge over the Hanapepe River was rebuilt after the 1992 hurricane, the city its self has not fully recovered.
