My Chicken Art

Remember me telling you about the Spring Art Auction at school the week before spring break!!! Remember I won a art piece that I was just so excited about. Well I finally got it today. I couldn’t remember the exact bid price I put on it & much to my surprise it was less than I though. No complaints here!!! I was kinda curious of the hubbs comments when I showed him because its definitely different. I was caught off guard when he said he liked it & that it looked good hanging in our living room. I told him I wish I would have put a bid on both pieces there at the auction. Then I would have one for each side of our entertainment center. He told me we can go back & get another one made or pick one out from what he has available. I was so excited he liked it & doesn't mind getting another piece. They are pretty popular here in the South, I’d say mainly the Columbia area from what I’ve heard. I might see if we can’t made a drive down to Five Points this coming weekend to see if the Chicken Man is out. I wont be so hesitant to stop on the side of the road at his truck now, knowing what he does & who he is.

Seating for two please

During our PCS leave in Texas we bought a new living room sofa for our home in SC. In our search we only shopped at stores that had a locations in SC and that would deliver from their Columbia store. We found the perfect sofa at Haverty's, we just fell in love with it. It was perfect down filled, tall back and it came with 3 throw pills. There was a chair that went perfect with it as well and we decided we wanted to get two of them. However with a price tag of $1000.00 each we decided we would wait on them and just go with the sofa for now.

Once we got settled in our new home I was looking for every way possible for us to get the chairs sooner rather than later. But the though of paying a thousand dollars for one chair was the hard part. Even harder seeings we wanted two of them for a sitting area in our living room. While out and about around the area over the last few weeks we were always stopping by local furniture stores to check out what they had. (we are looking for another piece for our living room as well.) Nothing seemed to compare to the Haverty chairs, we kept going back to them. Then finally we went to what we though was a small hole in the wall furniture store only to find out it is 3 stories HIGH and takes up a whole city block. CRAZY, we spend about 2 almost 3 hours there looking at everything thing they had. Right when we had given up hope on the chairs we found two that we liked allot and finally decided to go with them. Less than half the price of one H chairs it was a deal we couldn't pass up. Sadly it was Saturday and they couldn't deliver till Monday, darn why don't we have our truck still. (oh well, its better this way)

I just simply love the way the chairs look in the living room, we couldn't have done better. We wanted something different something unique and that you don't see in every ones home. The only thing left to complete the area is a little table for the middle. Our house quickly became a Home were our heart love to be!!!!!

I spent the better half of my morning on line really putting together my boards (its what happens when im home alone w/ no car) & the ideas were endless. I can't wait to try the recipes I found & put some of the home organization & decorating ideas in place.

This would be the perfect wall for a wall hanging I purchased in Canton / 1st Monday when I was back in Texas. HOWEVER there is this horrible eye sore of a AC vent preventing me from hanging it here. I have gone through idea after idea in my head on what I could do to cover it up and it still be functional but the hubbs thinks its a bad idea to cover it. (even with a framed out piece of fabric.) any ideas. ?!?!?!?
