Weekend Wrap Up
The ending to another fabulous weekend in Paradise. It started off early with dinner on the beach with Sandy at the Ko'Olina Lagoons. We picked up take out at Assagio's Ristorante Italiano which I'd never had before ummmmmm SOOOO GOOD. I think I might have a new favorite restaurant that we will have to be going to. Chatting away, watching the sunset over the ocean with out a worry in the way was the perfect way to end a busy day.

Date night with a few friends was set for Friday night. We met up and off to Dukes in Waikiki it was, Sandy and I along with two of her friends. I'd never been to Dukes either so another first for me as well. Over all it was pretty good food, a tad pricey if you ask me but totally worth it as we had a fantastic evening. Sandy had bought the cutest little "Hello Kitty pins" and had written "Army Wife" on them and gave them to the 3 of us girls as our "award" she called it. I loved that she took the time to do something sweet to show how much she cares.

After dinner I had plans to meet up with Branch and a few other people for drinks at the Yard House. It was a night in Waikiki, liven it up that is. Chatting away and having a grand time I was about halfway through my drink and wasn't so crazy about it any more. That's just when they decided a trip to Dave & Busters was a must. I was all over it, big kid games are you kidding what could be more fun at midnight :) I had not been there since my 16th birthday which was forever ago. My talent on the arcade games showed as well, I totally sucked at the racing games and skee ball was not my thing either, I managed to do OK on basketball but still sucked lol. Everyone was a good sport about it and laughed right along with me.
Saturday Branch and I had plans to hang out and go shopping for a birthday party I was suppose to be going to. We ended up meeting up with T and having lunch with her at Dixie Grill another one of our favorite Dine In's. Ummmm I could eat me some BBQ all day long.

That night we all met back up at the Shack in Mililani for the evening, drinks and a good band playing, was a great way to end the evening. Singing and dancing along with everyone just hanging out, this is the life in paradise lol only if he was here to enjoy it with me. I'm just glad that we are able to share pictures and stories so he doesn't miss a thing.

Sunday I was invited to a Polo Game that was going on out on the North Shore by my friend Diane. I invited T and Branch to come along as well, so with the "COOOOLER" (they make fun of the way I say it) loaded we opened up the tail gate of the truck popped open a drink and kicked our feet up. I hadn't ever really tail gated before nor had I ever been to a Polo Game. This was the last one of the season and it just so happened to be Army vs. Navy. (who ever knew the Army had a Polo team). I think we all got a kick out of people watching more so than we did the game its self. It was sooooo much fun, the weather was just perfect, it wasn't to hot and there was a nice breeze as well. I hadn't laughed so much until today at the different out fits some of the people were wearing. I mean it was as if they had NO clue as to where they were or what they were doing. Some of them were dressed as if they'd just got back from their Easter Sunday gathering and then the other's looked like there belonged on a nude beach. I think we missed the memo on wearing the big sun hats (which don't get me wrong they were super cute) and the boots as well oh and our favorite HIGH HEALS on the beach. I mean really come on. I can't say that I will jump at the next Polo Game and make sure I don't miss it but it was a blast hanging out enjoying a glass of wine in the back of the truck with some great friends.

I ONLY WISH THAT GABE WAS HERE TO ENJOY THE WEEKENDS WITH ME AS WELL. I know he would have had a great time, I can't wait to be able to go on these crazy adventures with him. I miss my partner in crime, my bestie, my lover, my soul mate oh so so much. LOVE YOU BABY AND HURRY HOME.

21 again....
Sweet "T" was turning "21" again for the 5th time and there was two days worth of festivities going on to celebrate. Seeing how much I just love birthdays and she is one of the sweetest people I know, I opted to get the cake. A "Beach theme ~ Red Velvet" cake is just what the birthday girl ordered.
The cake was originally suppose to be for day two but we decided last minute to bring it along for dinner Friday evening. With a few of her closest friends surrounding her we gathered for a fantastic meal at Bucca di Beppo. I am absolutely in love with that place. There was people there that she had worked with and then people she had met through the army. I had met one of the "army" people briefly about 2 weeks ago but other than that I didn't know anyone there. It worked out neat because all her "work" people sat at one end of the table and all us "army" people sat at the other end of the table. As us "army" people talked and exchanged stories, I gained 3 new friends that are sweet as ever.

As the night came to a end we had so much food left over, everyone still managed to have some room for yummy cake. The first time T saw the cake was when the wait staff brought it to the table. She just absolutely loved it, the smile on her face and excitement in her eyes was priceless. I was worried about the flavor because I'd only had Red Velvet one other time and I can tell you I was not a fan of it at all, but this cake was SOOOOO good. I was totally sold on it by the end of the evening.

Going with the "5th Anniversary of her 21st Birthday" as the theme for the party mint nothing else but to go big or go home. I snagged a few small shot bottles of alcohol at the Class Six on post, the cutest little box and a "Happy 21st Birthday card" as her gift. It went perfect with the theme of the day, you are only as old as you make your self out to be. SO LIVE LIFE UP AND ENJOY IT BECAUSE YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day two of events started with a mad dash through the commissary with T getting food and drinks for the BEACH PARTY!!!!!!! A hour and a half late (party was suppose to start at 12pm) after sitting in traffic on our way to Chuns beach on North Shore we finally arrived. Both my car and hers loaded with food, drinks, tables, a tent and the rest of the cake. It was a gourges day out and we had a blast. T's friend H has a boat and drove it down to the beach from Haleiwa harbor, after hanging out on the beach for a while a few of them decided they were gonna go take the boat out and go fishing. They just happened to invite me along and I was quick to take them up on it. I grew up on the water, going out in the boat every weekend and driving it around so this was right up my alley. While H went spear fishing I had the chance to drive the boat around the Pacific Ocean with Branch. It was SOOO much fun, it felt like old times on the boat back in Texas. Radio up, guys had a drink and the only thing missing was my ski and a rope. After about a good hour of driving around in the boat we went back to the beach and hung out a bit more with the birthday girl had some good laughs and played catch with the football. Another trip was a must and this time more people came along for a ride. H let me drive the boat the entire time which was totally awesome, as we drove down to Sunset beach we saw 2 rainbows, drove under a few rain clouds and just had a blast cruising around the Pacific. I was a happy girl and just wish that Gabe could have been here to join in on the fun.

The evening ended around 8pm with us finally packing up and off to Breakers for some more celebrating. T & myself along with 3 of the guys decided to go, It was semi short lived for T and I as the guys were a bit crazy do to the lovely alcohol but we still had a awesome time. It was loads of fun meeting new people and just hanging out not having to worry about a thing in the world. I really needed to just let go and have a good time. The stress of the deployment and work along with the lack of sleep has taken a toll on me so today was a MUCH needed FUN DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Free Fallen
Today was my friend Tara's Birthday & her friend Jarod's birthday was yesterday, so to celebrate we did something alittle daring. Something a few people might call crazy. We went Skydiving down off Dillingham. I was stoked and so excited about going, I couldn't wait.

I met up with them both at Skydive Hawaii @ 10AM and we were on our way. We filled out the paper work, with in seconds after I was in my harness and on my way to the plane. I didn't even have time to think twice about what I was about to do. On our way up I probably asked Joey (aka my jump buddy) a million in one questions. He kept avoiding half of them and told me not to worry about that. It was probably for my own good.

Once we reach the jumping point, 14000 feet high in the air later, I found myself standing on the edge of a perfectly good airplane wondering what I was doing. I don't remember the jump after that, I just remember falling as fast as ever and hoping and praying we were going to be ok.

A few seconds went by, which totally seemed like forever and Joey pulled the chute. Thankfully it came open and all was well. You could see all the way from Waikiki and Diamond Head to Kaena point. You could see to the other side of Oahu and so much more. Joey called it his office, he kept saying welcome to my office.

Today was one of the most amazing things I have ever done in my life. I can not wait to go back and do it again. The view was spectacular and the rush you got from free falling was priceless. It was totally worth every bit of nervousness that I had. You have the best of both words the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. Per~perfection at its finest if I do say so myself.

~*~ONE~*~
ONE SEED can start a garden,
ONE SMILE can lift a spirit,
ONE CANDLE can light a room
ONE CONVERSATION can start a friendship.
ONE PERSON can make all the difference~
that one is YOU.
One of my knew parents gave me a card with this written on it and just wanted to share. She has a newborn baby boy & is a school teacher. The time has come for her to return to work as the 2010-2011 school year starts back up. She is having a difficult time adjusting to being away from her baby boy. As well as he is adjusting himself. On Thursday she gave me the card which included a gift card to the PX as a "Thank You" for be so patient with her as they start this new journey through life as a Army Family.
I just love me parents that I have, and have become really great friends with some of them. It's a blessing to be surrounded by so many wonderful people.
"Thank You Mrs. W. and lil Linc" you are both to to sweet.

Moven on up!!!!!!
Finally after what seemed like forever waiting, we got the news that orders were in and Jared would finally be getting pined.
I was out relaxing enjoying the beautiful sunset over the ocean with a friend @ Waimea Bay when he IMed me and told me the NEWS.

1300 that day for him, late in the middle of the night for me was when the ceremony was going to be taken place. I am so beyond proud of him and can not wait for him to get home so we can celebrate. Sure it will be like 7 months later but better late then never.
He has earned this promotion more than anything, he has earned the ones in the pasted and seems as if he works harder and harder as each one comes. As it should be, with a higher rank becomes MORE responsibility and MORE work. NOTHING of course he cant handle, being a rock star of a soldier that he is.

I am so proud and only wish that the ceremony would have been able to take place before he left for deployment. But everything happens for a reason. I know that SSG Jackson was more than proud to be pinning Gabe with his new rank.
AWH, I want my soldier back from Iraq. I miss him so much and I know that he is doing his job but I only wish it didn't have to be for so long.
I love you baby and can't wait till you are home in my arms again.

ReUnItEd & .......
Reunited & it feels so good, Reunited & it feels so good. Oh I can't wait to be reunited with the love of my life. To be able to get all dolled up for his HOMECOMING. To run around stressing making sure I get every last detail of things ready. Making sure the house looks just so, and smells yummier than ever. To have my heart racing a million miles to nothing because I know with in minutes he is going to be wrapping his arms around me again as I jump in his. I can't wait to have his lips pressed up against mine again. Oh I could just go on and on forever, I just can't bare another second away from him it's ripping me apart. :(
I was lucky enough to be apart of a very special night last night as a really close friend Welcomed Home her husband from a 10 month long deployment. To see the excitement in her eyes and the glow about her, along with the other wives there that I have gotten to know was just amazing. They were all so dressed up & had their Lei's & Welcome Home posters in hand. Pacing back and forth waiting and waiting the excitement grew more and more.
I can't wait for the day that I can go down to the hanger and WELCOME HOME the Love of My Life. I have so many idea's going through my head of what I am going to do. I have already started the search for that "Perfect Outfit". It will be by far the best day ever, I'm sitting on pens and needles now awaiting his return. :)
ONE DAY DOWN IS ANOTHER DAY CLOSER TO HIS RETURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Perfection @ its finest"
I love more than anything watching the sunset over the deep blue sea. There is just something about it that is so breath taking. I don't know if it's the colors changing or the way it fall's the sky but it's heaven looking down on me that's for sure. One of our favorite things to do together if we are ever out late in the evening (which happens allot) is to watch the sunset. It's awesome to watch back on the mainland but here in Hawaii its just taken to a new level.
I only wish that this past week when I went to watch the sunset, my lover was here with me. I know he would have enjoyed it, sitting back on the beach with our feet in the water. UMMMM, life is perfect just missing him here to enjoy it which would turn perfection into SIMPLY AMAZING. Our R&R time together can not come soon enough, I have just got to make it through the rest of this year and then we will be on the down hill slope to a R&R and Homecoming. I can't wait I just want things back to normal. My house is to quiet with him gone & it's always clean. Which don't get me wrong I love a clean house but what I would give to have his crap every were just to have him home. Oh baby I love you more than words can say, your the cherry on top of my sundae and I can't wait till you are home.

The Making of a Military Wife
When the good Lord was creating Wives, he was into his sixth day of overtime.
An angel appeared and said, "You're having a lot of trouble with this one. What's wrong with the standard model?"
And the Lord replied, "Have you seen the specs on this order? She has to be completely independent, but must be sponsored to get on post; have the qualities of both father and mother during deployments; be a perfect hostess to 4 or 40; run on black coffee; handle emergencies without a manual; be able to handle flu, birthdays and moves around the world; have a kiss that can cure anything from a child's torn Valentine to a husband's weary day; have the patience of a saint when waiting for the Unit to return home; and have six pairs of hands."
The angel shook her hand slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands... no way!"
And the Lord answered, "Don't worry, we'll make other military wives to help. Besides it's not the hands that are causing the problem, it's the heart. It must swell with pride in her husband, sustain the ache of separations, beat on soundly when it's too tired to do so and be large enough to say, "I Understand" when she doesn't, and 'I love you' regardless."
"Lord," said the angel, touching his sleeve gently. "Come to bed... finish this tomorrow!"
"I can't," said the Lord. "I'm so close to creating something unique. Already I have one who heals herself when she's sick, can feed three unexpected guests who are stuck in the area due to bad weather, and can wave good-bye to her husband, from a pier, off a runway and understand that it is important to his country that he leaves."
The angel circled the model of the military wife very slowly. "It's too soft," she sighed.
"But tough," said the Lord excitedly. "You cannot imagine what this woman can do or endure."
"Can it think?"
"Can it think? It can convert 1400 to 2 p.m."
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek. "There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told you that you were trying to put too much into this model."
"It's not a leak," said the Lord. "It's a tear."
"What's it for?" asked the angel.
"It's for joy. Sadness. Disappointment... Pain, loneliness and pride!"
"You are a genius," sighed the angel.
The Lord looked somber and replied, "I didn't put it there."

Let the countdown begin!!!!!!!!!
Now that we have gotten this thing on a role, the "Deployment" that is. It is time to start counting down the days. Counting down the days till R&R and counting down the days till Homecoming. During our last deployment both at home and at work I had count downs going on. The people I worked with loved to be involved and make sure I was keeping up with it and it help with the time. So of course this time around is no different. I have two different count downs at our home and one in my classroom at work. Seeing's allot of my kiddo's parents did just deploy with 2ND Brigade I though it was a great way to get the parent back here holding up the fort to be involved.
COUNTING DOWN TO R&R~ Starting on August 1st I will remove one mint from the bowl & when there are no longer any mints left it should be the first day of the month of R&R. I have heard of people doing something similar to this with Chocolate kisses but seeings I'm not a big chocolate person I went with the mints.

COUNTING DOWN TO HOMECOMING @ HOME~ A bright idea from one of my favorite girls was given a twist. 358 sticky notes, four rolls of tapes, 2 hours later & a wonderful evening with my besty ='s the best gift at the end of the count down. The LOVE OF MY LIFE HOME!!!!!!!!!! I take one off the door every evening before bed.

COUNT DOWN @ WORK IN THE CLASSROOM~ I had originally bought the construction paper & was going to make the paper chain and hang it up in our house. However after I got started on it, I was not crazy about having to look at it for a whole year in our house. So the classroom it was, & now it hangs around the back part of my classroom. I take one down every morning when I get into work counting down the 11 1/2 months we have left.
