GoodBye Miami!

We finally made it back to our room Sunday morning around 4am. For some reason we listened to Nanc when she told us it was already 5am. At that point we figure there was no reason in going to bed only to be up in about a hour to hour & half. So what did we do…downloaded all the pictures to my computer and looked through them. When I turned my laptop on we noticed it was only 4am so in reality we could get a couple extra hours of sleep then we though. We still looked through the pictures, talked about how much fun we'd had and how we couldn't believe it was over. We were all ready to be reunited with out loves but I would be lying if I said I wasn't sad that I was leaving the girls. Shortly after falling asleep our phones started going off with email and text message notification. That only means one thing we were back in cell range. We popped up and looked out the window as we were pulling into port. Bittersweet for sure, I was that much closer to my love but that much closer to saying see you later to my best friends. We managed to get a little bit of sleep before our wake up call came through and we were up packing our last minute things and heading to the 7th floor to get off the ship :(

Once we got in line we really didn't have to wait to long before we were off and making the trip to the airport to start our journey home. It worked out that we were all on the same flight out of Miami and the four of us girls split in Charlotte, NC. While in Miami we stopped for coffee and hot chocolate and look what the spouse had for us. Is she not the sweetest friend ever. Gosh I love her. I can't help but get a lump in my throat as I'm writing just thinking about how much I miss living in the same state.
We tried to get all of our seats together but with a fully packed flight it just didn't work. Brandy was in the very front of the plane which worked out for her because she had very little time to make it to her connecting flight. The only down fall to that was the fact that we had to say our "See you Soon's" to her before we went back to our seats. Sarah was suppose to be in the VERY back but we were able to get our two seats together. Thank Goodness!!! Nancy was across the aisle one row ahead of us. So we were able to be close to her as well. Along with the most talkative two guys ever. Seriously from the moment we sat down they did not shut up, minus the 15 minutes they slept right after we took off. We did get a few good laughs out of them though and they made the flight go by quick.
Before we knew it we were in Charlotte and heading our separate ways. The Spouse and I took a second to get one last picture and squeeze in before we parted. It never fails I ALWAYS choke up when our time together ends. She's my other half and I'd do anything for her.
From here Nancy & Brandy had one more flight each and Sarah had two. I however just had to walk outside and there was my love!!!! I was so happy to be back in his arms. We headed to OTB (On The Border) for lunch and of course he had to stop at Base Pro before heading home.

We've already starting talking / planning our next girls trip / get-together. Sarah and I will both be moving to different states SOON and so it gives us another opportunity to see more of the great USA.
I love how the army allows us to travel around and meet up in different places. :)

I feel life slipping away...

Just when I was having a down and ruff day, there was a knock at my door. It was the UPS man dropping off a package. I completely forgot I was even expecting anything till I looked closer at the label. I (with some help from my mom) put together this photo collage book for my Spouse aka Best Friend for her birthday. Its a collection of pictures we took together while in Hawaii through out all of our adventures. I had it sent straight to her in Hawaii last October and never ordered myself one till just a few weeks ago. I got it in the mail today and have looked through it about 5 times already. Its hard to look through the pictures sometimes and then other times its so exciting to see all the wonderful things I was able to experience with her. We've been through so much together and have so much ahead of us, I just can't wait to see what life has in store for the two of us. Its been ruff lately not having her around having to adjust to life on the mainland. Watching / reading through FB how different things are now that I have moved away some times just brings tears to my eyes. Its hard to see someone you care about and love so much simply go on with out you. Building relationships with new people, having other people call your best friend there best friend. Seeing them enjoying things together that you use to enjoy doing. Its hard, it sucks, its not easy and I don't know how to make these feelings go away. I try not to say I'm jealous of the situation but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't. What we had and still have is something special, it wasn't built over night and I know it will never go away but that doesn't mean its easy living thousands of miles away from each other. The time difference doesn't help either and some times it only makes things worse. I don't want to be that needy friend but I don't know how to make the situation better. I've tried making friends here but it just never seems to work out and it doesn't help that everyone that lives on our street is either retired or much older or frankly never comes out of their home. I go to our FRG meetings and Functions and I talk with the wives there but the relationship never seems to go further than that no matter how hard I try. I work with ladies much older than myself, we are talking in their 60's, which don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with that. Its just that I'd like to have someone I can relate to and talk to that is close to my own age. Go to the movies with so I don't have to go alone, go shopping with or grab a late night drink with when the hubby has to work. We do have a big trip planned in October for a week and I am super excited about it. However I just can't help but think that once its over things will just go back to the way they are now. I'll be back in the South they will be back in Hawaii and life will go on. As it should I just wish things were different. I can't go back I can't change things I just have to move on and continue to work with what I have and maintain our relationship that we have build on it. Its just hard, I've been through so much in my life since becoming a Army wife and just when I think I've got "this" down I find myself fighting for something else. I don't want to loose what we have, I don't want someone else to step in and take my place but how do I do that when I'm not there every day any more like I use to be???
I know this is the army life and am not complaining about the army, because if it wasn't for the army I wouldn't have the people in my life that I do.
I think I've cried enough tears for the night, I'm gonna hit the pavement to burn off some heart ache.

Road Trip!!!

It seems like its been years since I've seen the Spouse (aka Sarah) but really its only been since Christmas. I headed out this morning to make the 5 hour drive to West Virginia to visit her. S & B are home on leave visiting so we planned a little powow get together. This morning I picked up the house and took the pups for a walk after loading up the car. The hubbs was at work of course :( so I decided to stop by his bay for some goodbye smooches before getting on the road.

My last two road trips I've done really well on so I knew this one wouldn't be a problem. I took my time driving through South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky then into West Virginia. There were a few senic look out points along the way that I decided to take advantage of. Some were prettier than others and worth the 100 yard walk unlike the 800 foot jog I took up and then back down a hill to one look out area.

Well worth the stop though it gave me a chance to stretch my legs and take a quick potty break. The good old station wagon Subaru held up well as always. I made it a hour out from B's house before stopping for gas. Even then I still had 60 miles left on that tank of gas and only 73 miles to go, my light was on and I didn't want to chance being stuck on the side of the road. One things for sure it sure dose save on gas.
I think it was just before 7pm when I finally made it in town. From there we went to dinner at a local joint with B's parents and then to the Spouses house. We did a bit of visiting & catching up with her family, played a few games on the Wii and did a bit more catching and sipping on some wine before finally calling it a night......well after midnight!!!
I'm so excited to spend the next week with S & B, good times to come!!!

Missin Her Even More

After a long day at work and busting my booty at spin class, (let me tell you I rocked it out & was quite proud of myself.) I came home to a beautifully decorated package awaiting me on my front porch. I knew just who it was from, the Spouse can't keep a secret lol. She is the sweetest person ever and knows just how to make my day. I was anxious to see what was inside, I had no clue what it could be. When I opened it I was greeted with pink tissue paper and I found loads of yummy healthy snack. SWEETNESS!!!!

I keep my "31" lunch pale that I got for Christmas (she makes fun if me for calling it a lunch pale) in my car filled with healthy snacks so I have it during my break & then I don't have to worry about packing a lunch. She must have known I was running low because she just filled it right up. I haven't tried any yet but they really look tasty, I'm super excited about the Mickey Mouse dried fruits.

Also included was another Sing-a-Jam character like the one she got me for Christmas. This guy is a cute yellow key chain and sings Home On The Range. I think I'm going to have to Google the song because I can't seem to get the tune right. He fits perfect on my set of house keys, I for sure won't miss place them now. Another surprise was a fabulous ALOHA wall hanging, that goes along with a few of my other pieces I got before we left the Island. Its perfect because I have a Texas one that is similar and I think I am going to hang them together.
EVERY ONE NEEDS ALITTLE ALOHA IN THEIR LIFE!!!

It was a perfect pick me up from a long crazy cold day. A piece of the Aloha State sent to the South was just the reminder I needed of how lucky I am to have her in my life. Not that I didn't know that before hand because trust me I did. Every now and then I still am in disbelief that this is our life and we have moved away. I absolutely HATE it more than anything in the world. Not just because Hawaii is simply amazing but thats were some of the most important people came into our life and many are still there. I can not wait to go back I'm excited about planning a visit in the near future. And hopefully the Army will follow through and we will be back there for a few years as well. :)

THANK you SPOUSE so MUCH you ARE simply FABULOUS & i LOVE my VALENTINES care PACKAGE. you ARE the BESTEST best FRIEND i COULD ever ASK for.
I miss you so much and can't wait to see you soon. You seriously mean so much to me and the Hubbs to. Praying the next month goes by fast for you!!!!!!!

(ps: I can't wait for her to get her box, it will be a bit but I'm super excited about it!!!)

Bright Ideas

DAY 64

Being Artsy

Prepping for the SPOUSES arrival. Last night about 11pm I had a bright idea that I wanted to be "that person" holding a "Welcome to sign" for the spouse when we went to pick her up at the airport. I begged Gabe to go to Walmart when me right then to get the stuff to make it seeings the PX was closed. It was a no go, he was tired and had to be at work at 430am the next morning. BOOOOO.
So what did I have to do.....WAIT. This morning after getting up and dressed I made my way to the PX and loaded up on supplies. I wanted to get it finished before I went to work this afternoon because I had loads to do this evening and I was trying my hardest to have everything ready for her arrival the day before (today). I managed to finish up all the wording and filling in of the lettering before I left but it was still missing something. It seemed to white, on my way home from work I stopped by Hobby Lobby and picked up some Crayons to add a bit more color. Finally it was complete the coloring took forever but I'm happy with the way it turned out. It kinda looks like a 5 year old made it but that's ok I know they spouse will love it. Speaking of we were on the phone chatting away while I was working on it tonight and it took all I had not to tell her about it.
I cant wait to Welcome her to the SOUTH!!!!!
