Wrapping up 2015

Of course it wouldn't seem right if I didn't do one last "dump" post before the year was over would it now. I've had a few pictures and drafts waiting for a place on this here blog of mine for a good minute and well I just haven't had the time or energy to sit down and put the words together. So here you go, the last little bit of 2015 and how we spent it.

*Early December we went to the Hubbs Battalion Ball down in Nashville. We ended up staying the night down there and had a great evening out with friends.
*The morning after the ball we went to breakfast at Biscuit Love. I'd been wanting to try it for a while now and well it was tasty, I have to say its not some where I'd rush back to.
*While the hubbs was at a match I took advantage and tagged along. After dropping him off I headed into town to check out the Franklin Factory and Market. I picked up some tasty 100 layer donuts and some Bison for our Christmas Dinner.
*I'm in love with our new fire place mantel picture. I had originally planned to put it over out bed but I just love it here.
*It just wouldn't be a complete holiday with out some freshly made Gingerbread loads and a Candy Cookie Cake for our work New Years Eve Pot Luck.
* I hadn't been to a match with the hubbs recently so I decided to tag along this particular day. Bonus we had lunch in Nashville and did a bit of window shopping.
*Our first ever date way back in 2006 was to "Ice" at the Gaylord in Texas. When I found out last year that they did it here at the Opryland Hotel & Resort I told the hubbs we had to go. We enjoyed it and had such a great time.
*My childhood puppy I had before moving to Hawaii was adopted by my best friend Ang. we found out late on Sunday night that she ended up having to be put to sleep. She had, had so many problems of the years but lived a long long life!!!
*Right in the mist of preparing dinner one evening after work our power went out. We decided to take the pups on a walk to give it time to come back on but no such luck. Out to dinner we went and ruffly two ours later when we returned there was still no power. I decided it was the perfect time to watch a movie on my computer.

7 Year Anniversary Pictures!!!

I'm absolutely head over heels in love with our 7 Year Anniversary pictures. I was introduced to an amazing local photographer. By far hands down one of the best photographers I've ever worked with. I can't wait to use her again when the hubbs comes home next year. I am so in love with this man and its crazy to look back and think that we were married just over 7 years ago and that we've been together for 8 years. We're more in love today then we were back then and I can't wait to see were the next 7+ years takes us. Not to mention the fact that he's relaxed so much with having to put up with my yearly photo request. We've come a long way in that department lol. He hates more than anything having his picture taken, but he know's it's important to me. He's my world and I'm completely smitten with this life we're going through together. I narrowed it down the best I could, but I simply couldn't help myself. The cow's photo bombing are one of my favorite parts, they were every were on the pasture. J's family owns the land and she does an incredible job. Walking out of the house the morning of our photoshoot, I quickly snagged our Monogram canvas off the wall that my wonderful friend made for us, I knew I had to incorporate it in. I think it worked out perfect!!!
Hope you enjoy them almost as much as I do!!

Puppy Park on Mother's Day

I may not be a momma to any two legged babies but I a momma to two four legged fur babies. They warm my heart and always seem to make me smile. Sure they annoy the nonsense out of my sometimes but I wouldn't change them for the world. We've been through so much together in the past 4 years. It's just been the 3 of us over the last month and we've had some extra bonding time. We've gone on lots of walks and runs together like we always do when daddy's home. We've spend a lot of time at the Dog Park (I wont take them in the wooded trail area by myself like we do when the hubbs is home) letting them run some of their energy out. I love that we have a dog park on post and its only half a mile from our house. Not only do they get a good walk in up there but then they can run around free and play. We've been pretty lucky here lately and there really hasn't been anyone there. I say luck because Bailey is kinda crazy with dogs she doesn't know when in a confined area.
I couldn't think of a better way to take advantage of this beautiful day then a trip to the puppy park.
Sweet Bailey Girl taking a break in the shade, its only 9am and its already pretty warm out.
They love playing on the ramp, its so fun to watch them run up and down because they get so excited.
(the below left pic. shows B's double ridgeback hair line so well, I love it)
Bailey hasn't quite figured out the tunnel yet but Dingo just jumps right in.
They love the dog park and we had so much fun running around playing this morning. We spent over a hour there. Now I have two pooped puppies and this momma is relaxing for a bit before I go get some fresh local Strawberries. Yum :) We're officially on count down mode till daddy / hubbs comes home and I can't wait.

Happy Mother's Day to all you Momma's & Momma's to be out there!!!!!

5 Year Pictures Finally!

Now that I've gotten our Christmas Cards Mailed out and for the most part everyone has received them I can finally share our 5 Year Anniversary Pictures. Every year I twist the hubbies arm to have pictures made. But it works out because we do them Early - Mid November for our Anniversary then we can use them for our Christmas card as well. I'm Loving our pictures this year, Hubby did a fabulous job. Normally he doesn't really smile much at all, its like twisting his arm again to get a good picture. But really what Army man smiles in pictures, not this one. However this year he totally blew me away. I loved him more in the pictures then I did myself. I had a awful smile in some of them. I thought I'd share with you some of our favorites out of the ones we got back to review. Hope you enjoy. I still can't believe sometimes we've been married for 5 years. It's crazy, I don't know were the time has gone.

We were lucky enough to be able to use the same photographer this year that we did last year. However we aren't going to be as lucky next year. :( Jawnie recently PCSed Ft. Carson Colorado. So if you in the area and looking for an AMAZING photographer I HIGHLY recommend her. She's simply fabulous. Check out her FB page HERE!!!!!

Pugil Sticks

Today I had the chance to go out and photography the company doing Pugil stick training. This was one event that I hadn't seen in person yet, so I was looking forward to it. At the end they had a competition between the platoons. Each Drill SGT picked their strongest male & female to compete against the others.

The platoons cheered each other on, by chanting and singing cadence.
It was so fun to watch, they have a great team spirit about them.
This is one of my favorite pictures from the day. I was out there for 4 hours taking pictures and watching. 1st SGT had to step in for a minute and break things up before it got to serious. (lol, no one was seriously hurt, although a few did have to go to the ER)

DELTA DEALERS FIGHT STRONG!!!
Drill SGT P. watching his PVT represent the plt. He was on edge the whole time, it was pretty comical.

Each PVT was able to get a 2 minute training / practice round!!

Drill SGT Y. cheering her plt on and giving them some love for a job well done!!!!
I had a lot of fun out there watching and chatting with some of the PVTS. This was a great moral booster for them, as they don't have much longer to go till graduation.
It was a bitter sweet day as well because it was my last day to go out and take pictures for this cycle because I'll be leaving soon.
