I've started going to the indoor pool on post 3 times a week and swimming laps. I've never swam laps before this but let me tell you it sure has been a workout. I'm really enjoying it though and think I'll definitely keep it in my weekly workout routine. I've set a goal for myself over the next month, now here's to seeing if I'm able to stick with it. So far so good and its not weight loss either (although I have a personal weight loss goal I am trying to reach), stick around and find out.
I've gone to the pool both in the mornings and the afternoons. I have to say I like going in the mornings better just because there aren't as many people.
Does anyone have any tips they'd like to share with a new lap swimmer like myself??

ooooh i can't wait to be near a pool to swim! Lucky
Do you seriously look that pretty after a swim?! :)
I should swim more...it is such great exercise. We have an outdoor pool that I sometimes swim laps in but I never do very many...too out of shape. You are dedicated- I'm impressed!!
I love swimming! It's too bad I didn't take advantage of the pool pre baby. It's hard to take an infant to the pool when it's just me with her. :( Maybe I'll try to convince my husband on a pool outing this weekend or next weekend. I miss being in the water.
I'm not a swimmer, but I wish I was! It looks like such fun and a change up from just running on a boring treadmill!
Ugh. I hate swimming but I do wish I had a swimmers body!
I was on the swimteam when I was younger, but was never very good. It was a great workout, though!!
Tiffany, I get water in my ears lap swimming so I use earplugs and of course goggles. I belong to the Y on S. Cooper, it has an indoor pool and after water aerobics I sometimes stay and swim laps as they have a section just for lap swimmers
