Here we go again

We picked up a new Cycle today and when I say we I mean the husband along with all the other Delta Drills. It was suppose to be yesterday but for whatever reason they changed it to today. It worked out perfect, with it being Saturday I was able to go and watch. It had been raining off and on all morning which wasn't fabulous but ok, I'm not going to melt. Or am I?? Watching about 220 privates run around the bays in the rain trying not to drop their duffel's always makes for good memories. You really never understand that first day of Basic until you 1- either are there to watch the shark attack or 2- your apart of the shark attack being a private.

This one happened so quickly, the buses literally pulled up and out jumped all the SIT. Thankfully no one dropped their duffel and had their belongings dumped out like the last cycle.
The husband showing the new privates how to do a proper push up. Poor guy having to lay in that nasty rain water, I'm sure he didn't enjoy his blouse being wet after that.
Task #1
"You probably should start working on that a little better private" said Drill SGT M. In the sweetest most kind way, NOT. This guy might be little but let me tell ya he's got some lungs behind him. This was just a complete mess / disaster if you get what I'm saying. I'm sure its partly because most of them are scared shitless right now and aren't thinking straight. They will get there though, it just takes time.
Task #2
Aline your duffel's and boots properly in front of you and stand at attention. This one surprisingly went over ok. They were able to move out of line and help their battles if needed. The hubbs going through checking the first round. Look at that face, poor SIT have no clue what's in store for them.
Getting ready to meet their Drill SGT's and Company Command Team.
The hubbs saying the NCO Creed, he's such a rock star of a Soldier. They also recited the Drill SGT Creed & Solider Creed. I love hearing them say it loud and clear!!! I'm so proud of my husband and all he does, its not easy but he pushes through.
At this point they are broken down in to platoons and getting ready to go into their Bays (barracks). There's a lot to do that first day and its exhausting and LONG. I miss my husband already and its only day one of the new cycle. Let the good time roll and the fun stuff begin.
Welcome to the Army Privates!!!!!!!!

I remember Mr. D saying he felt bad for drill sergarents because it seemed like they were so busy and don't get to see their families much. Is that true? Its cool you got to go watch this!

For some reason I enjoy reading about this one... I am not sure if it is because of our soooo close affiliation with the Army or because the love you have for your hubby makes me smile but either way, you are a great wife and an excellent supporter of his and I am so happy that I know you... I am sure your dedication to your husband really works out nicely for the SIT families because you want to know and you let them know. I hope you are enjoying Jackson, and now that the summer is coming to a close maybe your hubby will be a bit more comfortable in the monkey suit. OH by the way my Brother in law will be at Jackson at the end of this month, I was really hoping that he would be in your hubby's group just because I could pass the word along to give him a hard time :)

I love how proud you are of your hubby...and you should be!! Without strong, brave men like him or country would be in trouble. Tell him a big THANK YOU for his service!
