Happy 3rd Birthday

DAY 93

Remember last week when I posted about the Pupcakes and getting Bailey & Dingo a cake for their upcoming birthday!? Well we picked it up this afternoon along with a special treat for them after we did a bit of running around. I couldn't wait to get home and celebrate their 3rd birthday. Dingo's is tomorrow but it was a little early for Bailey her's isn't till March 4th. With the hubbs being away for Drill school during that time we wanted to make sure we were able to celebrate with them together. So today was their day, yup what can I say they are our kiddos and completely spoiled.

Happy Birthday Pouches

It turned out perfect the cake is made of peanut butter & applesauce about a foot long and 4 inches wide, they are going to be eating on this for the next week. Is this not the cutest dog cake you have ever seen. I absolutely loved the way it came out, totally work the $18 bucks. We cut each of them off a piece and put it on separate plates for them. They seemed really standoffish at first and didn't really know what to do with it. Which is surprising because normally the gobble up their treat within minutes. After about a minute of them sniffing around & licking the cake Bailey decided to take the whole thing off the plate. "Seriously are you kidding me dog" I said, it was to funny all we could do was laugh. Quickly after Dingo did the same thing and they ran up the stairs to the landing and started eating it there. The really enjoyed it after figuring out that it was a yummy treat that they could eat. Major points for us I do think so!!!

yummy cake
she's trying to figure it out

The other part of their birthday celebration was a new chew. Not just any chew though these were Elk antlers cut down and turned into treats for dogs. They are kinda pricey because of what they are made out of @ $10.00 a chew, but I told the hubbs if they last a long time then its worth it. We will see they both seem to be really good at going through bones quickly so depending on how these work out we may have a new long term solution for them. They sniffed them out for a good couple minutes trying to figure out what the heck it was before they headed up the stairs.

They haven't even made a chip in them and have been chewing on them on and off for the last few hours. I don't wanna speak to soon but we may have found something that will last more than a couple hours. What can I say our pups love their chew toys & treats but we have the hardest time finding anything that will last a good long while.

how can you not love that face
enjoying the great out door

It has been a great day for them thats for sure and tomorrow we are planning on taking them out for a long walk around post. I wonder what exciting things we will come across then.
I'll leave you with a few pictures from when we first got the pups in Hawaii, they were so cute and tiny. We bought them 2 months apart but they were each 2 months old when we got them.

Also- the cake I got Skeeter for his birthday one year looked EXACTLY like that one!!
Wonder if it was the same bakery business but in a different location?
